Hi, I’m Dominica (she/they).
But you can call me nica or nico.
I always like to joke that I became a therapist loooooong before I ever trained to be a therapist. As a highly sensitive person, I have always been able to sense the unspoken in others. Some have said it feels like I have x-ray vision, which makes sense because I had to learn to read a room to keep myself safe from a very young age.
But despite my difficult beginnings and diagnoses of Complex PTSD, Fibromyalgia, and AuDHD, I have found a way to find beauty, joy, and embodiment in my life.
As an avid life long learner with insatiable curiosity, my feet have led me places my child self could only dream of.
I’m a parent of a vivacious two year old, and partnered in a cross-cultural relationship that continually reminds me to break pre-conceived notions of western wellness. I’ve had the privilege to live and learn in many places, including Chicago, Indiana, Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Italy, France, and Lebanon.
In my free time you can find me hosting at Spoken Word Paris open mic, working on my second full length collection of poems, dancing whenever the opportunity arises, getting yet another tattoo, losing myself in nature, or cooking my favorite recipes.
Thanks for letting the human in me see the human in you.
